AIRI
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 5, 2026
AIRI is a private, on-device voice notebook. Privacy is the product: your voice, your transcripts and your notes stay on your device. We cannot read them, because they never reach us.
This policy explains what AIRI does and does not do with your information.
Who we are
AIRI is made by ERARTA. For privacy questions, contact privacy@erarta.ai.
The short version
- Everything you capture — audio, transcripts, summaries, notes — is created and stored only on your device.
- Your archive is encrypted at rest (AES-256 via SQLCipher) with a key held in your device's secure hardware (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). The key never leaves the device.
- We do not have accounts, servers that store your content, ads, trackers, or data brokers. We do not sell or share your data, because we do not have it.
- The app uses the network for exactly two things: a one-time model download, and — only if you turn it on — anonymous, content-free product analytics that is off by default.
What stays on your device (always)
The following never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:
- Audio you record.
- Transcripts produced by on-device speech recognition.
- Summaries, tasks, cleaned notes, translations, and any other text the on-device model produces.
- Your archive, search index, topics, and any questions you ask your archive.
This data is stored in a local database that is encrypted at rest. You can delete it at any time from the app's Settings ("delete all"), which removes it permanently from your device.
When the app uses the network
- First-run model download. On first launch, AIRI downloads the on-device speech and language models it needs to work offline afterwards. These downloads fetch model files from their hosting providers. They transmit only what any file download does (your IP address is visible to the host serving the file); they do not send your audio, transcripts, notes, or any personal content. After this, AIRI works fully offline.
- Opt-in, content-free analytics — OFF by default. AIRI can optionally send anonymous product analytics to help us find bugs and improve the app. This is off unless you explicitly turn it on in Settings. When enabled, events contain only: which features were used and coarse counts, error codes, and timings/performance metrics. They never contain your transcripts, note text, questions, voice, or wake-word phrases. If you never enable it, nothing is ever sent.
We do not use the network for anything else. There is no telemetry that bypasses the opt-in switch.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your notes, transcripts, audio, or questions.
- We do not require an account or collect your name, email, or contacts.
- We do not use advertising or third-party tracking SDKs for ads.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data.
- We do not profile you or build a personal profile from your content.
Permissions
- Microphone — used solely to record audio for on-device transcription while you are capturing a note. Audio is processed on-device and is not uploaded.
Third parties
- Model hosts receive a standard file-download request when you first download the on-device models (no personal content).
- Analytics provider (only if you opt in) receives the content-free events described above. We configure it so analytics collection is disabled unless you consent.
We do not share data with any other third parties.
Data retention and your control
- Your content lives on your device for as long as you keep it. Deleting a note, or using "delete all" in Settings, removes it from your device.
- Because your content is only on your device, uninstalling the app removes it.
- If you opt into analytics, you can turn it back off at any time in Settings; we retain only the anonymous, content-free events already received.
Children's privacy
AIRI is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because AIRI does not collect personal content by default, ordinary use does not transmit personal data.
International users
Your content stays on your device wherever you are. The optional analytics provider and the model hosts may process the limited, non-content data described above in other countries.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app.
